Val Camonica, the Sistine Chapel of the prehistory di Bruno D'Amicis
Thousands of rock carvings, dating to more than two thousand years ago, decorate the boulders and the walls of the central part of Val Camonica, at the bottom of the Pizzo Badile and Concarena massives. Warriors and priests, animals, hunting and daily life scenes tell us about the stories of our ancestors like in a comic book. When the first sunlight enters the valley in the morning, the incisions are illuminated by the low light and seem to come to life, taking on a tridimensional relief. It is in these cases that you can understand the unbreakable bond of this artistic expression with the territory in which it was designed.
